FAQ

Is this real stone?
Yes… all of our products are made of 100%, natural stone, and most of our products are quarried locally in Idaho.

How long does it take to get my product?
Lead times vary depending on the time of year, but we strive to provide our customers with a quick turnaround of 7-10 business days.

Will it last?
We use stone-specific paints and sealers in order to provide a long-lasting, worry-free product.

How do I order?
If you're looking for a custom sign, address or name rock it is usually best to visit our showroom. You can browse our inventory of granite, sandstone, basalt and more; meet with our design team to select text and graphics; and view samples to get new ideas.  The typical process from start to finish is as follows:

  • Choose your rock. It can be nearly any type.  So, if you have an existing rock or have found one elsewhere, bring it in. If not, check our our ever-changing inventory and find the perfect one.
  • Think about design.  The rock type and size will determine the amount of detail that can be provided for the sign.  Look through our existing graphics, font styles and completed projects.  If you don't find what you're looking for, our designer can create a custom graphic for you.  We have several techniques we use to achieve stunning results. Also consider paint color(s). We have many to choose from, although black and brown seem to be the most natural looking. We are also able to closely match colors of existing logos.
  • Mock-up Designs. Once you've chosen a rock and have an idea about the design, you can either work with our designer in the showroom or we can email the designs to you. We will typically work up three options with varying fonts and graphic placement. Feel free to give suggestions for additional designs (an additional fee may apply) or pick the one that you like best.
  • Relax and let us do the rest. Upon design approval, we will go ahead with creating your rock. Once it has been completed, you'll receive a phone call to either set up delivery or let you know that it's ready for pick up.

How do I maintain my stone?

-Clean the stone periodically to keep dirt from building up on it.  A soft brush, dish soap and water can be used to clean the surface.  Be careful not to scrub too hard on smaller engraved areas of a stone, as that can lead to breaking pieces of the stone.

  • -Place the stone in an area where it will not be sprayed by sprinklers.  Sprinklers will break down the sealer faster which may discolor the stone over time.  If the stone is being sprayed by sprinklers it should be resealed every 1-4 years, as needed.  Stone sealer is available from your local hardware store.  The sealer should be an impregnating sealer meant for porous stone.
  •
  • -If the stone is not being hit by sprinklers it is only necessary to reseal it every 5-10 years, as needed, using an impregnating sealer meant for porous stone.
  •
  • -Like any paint, stone monument paint will fade over time.  Expect to get 7-20 or more years out of the paint, depending on the paint color and location of the stone.  Smaller stones can be brought in to us to be touched up, and larger stones can be done on site.  The price for this is estimated on a case by case basis.
